Hi all,
I have Windows XP Pro on Microsoft NT 4 LAN System and there is a "named" instance of the early version of MSDE (MSSQL$CAMBRIGESOFT) already installed in my Windows XP Pro.
I need to download Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) Release A and install it in my Windows XP Pro as a "default" instance to be used in Microsoft Access 2003 in my PC. I read MSDE 2000 Release A Installation Examples, but I do not understand what "Windows Authentication Mode", "Mixed Mode" and "AStrongSAPwd" are. Can someone explain them to me? Should I use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) Release A's "Windows Authentication Mode" or "Mixed Mode" for my "default" instance to be used in Microsoft Access 2003? Please help and advise.
Thanks in advance,
Scott Chang
