Hi ,
I am getting the followung error message trying to install sql 2005 standard edition:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default
driver specified Refer to server error logs and setup logs for more
information
Could this be an mdac issue?
Any help would be appreciated.

It could be a MDAC issue, but also check your DSN setting in Control Panel - Administrative Tools -- Data Sources (ODBC) and make sure you have a SQL server driver setup for each (System and User DSNs). If that's OK then check the Server Network Utility to make sure you have Host Naming setup.

It was not an MDAC issue after all , seems to be a known issue with sql server 2005 feb ctp , I found a workaround :
