TimeOut Expired

  • TimeOut Expired prompt out when i trying to access my page thru asp. If i logon thru the enterprises and the open the table, then no problem, may i know why? Please help, urgent

  • explicitly set your connection timeout property to the # of minutes you want the app to take before timing out...eg: 240 will give you 4 minutes!

    hth

**ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI !!!**

  • but is it a good idea to change the timeout value?

  • Depends on the situation - if the potential flaw is in the query plan itself and no one has the time to revamp the database...

Obviously there should be some "cutoff" time and no one should increase it to anything unreasonable..that being said, I have no idea what the maximum would be...maybe there're developers out there who've set it to 10 minutes or some such and they'd be able to address the reasons for setting it to whatever they did...

  • Oh - & a slow network could warrant changing it!
