Hi,
We have an SQL Server 2000 setup that was bought on a per user license. We would now like to change this into a "per processor" license, thereby making it unlimited.
I'd heard from a few sources, that a reinstall would be necessary. Can anyone confirm or deny this ?
I was hoping for just a registry change ...

I don't have any servers, including development, using per user licensing. I thought you could make a one-time change from "per user" to "per processor" though. It will NOT let you change it back though without rerunning setup, unless they've fixed that in SP4. You would have to hack the registry, unless MS has a tool for it (which is possible). I would talk to your MS representative. If you are going to pay for this, they should help you free of charge.

AFAIK, Derrick is correct. This makes it look like it's just an admin action
