Having installed SP4 on a server our web application no longer works. I believe the requests are sent via COM objects. Not all request go via COM and the ones that don't work fine.No error is being returned the page just sits there as if it is going to do something but never does. No errors are reported in the Event viewer or anywhere else I can find. Does anyone have any suggestions.ThanksJamie.

I think I have fixed it. I don't know whether this is a school boy error or not.
When I applied SP4 I connected to the Server via Remote Desktop. I think this had some impact as it messed up some of the paths for registering the objects. i.e. oledb, ado and MDAC related dll's as they were registered to a mapped drive!!! This meant the MDAC installation was messed up.
Resolution:
I reinstalled MDAC. This took me back to version 2.5.1
I then reinstalled MDAC 2.8.1 and 2.8.1 SP1
Hey presto it works fine.
I did however install SP4 on another machine using the same method and had no problems.

Find the mdac.inf file (probably C:\Windows\Inf)
Right Click -> Install point at location for win2k or whatever disk. This should reinstall to whatever is the on the disk. You can then role it forward to whatever version you wish.
