From SQL Server 2005 June CTP I have:
-- Client installed on XP Pro;
-- Server installed on Windows Server 2003 virtual machine.
I connect successfully using SQL Server Management Studio.
I removed Business Intelligence Studio from the client and then installed
Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite instead, assuming it to be a functional
superset of BIS.
Is this correct, or do I need Business Intelligence Studio installed in
addition to Team Suite?

My understanding is that you need it installed in addition to Team Suite. You actually got the VS 2005 install to work properly with the June CTP?

In Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite if you say new project one of the choices is "Business Intelligence Projects". Under this you can select:
Analysis Services Project
Integration Services Project
Report Model Project
Import Analysis Services 9.0 Database Project
Report Server Project Wizard
Report Server Project
Using the Report Server Wizard, I successfully created a trivial report which populated itself with data from the SQL Server 2005 VM.
So yes, they seem to be working properly together.
Based on the above, I still suspect that VS 2005 Team Suite is a functional superset of Business Intelligence Studio.

It probably is. The entire toolset for SQL Server 2005 is based on Visual Studio 2005 now, so it wouldn't be surprising. I just started messing around with the reports also. The integration of the toolset is nice, from a familiarity perspective.
