    No, to run a trace the sysadmin previliges are required.

    To give it a try, I just create a new login on my server and added it only to the 'processadmin' role. When I tried to create a new trace with this login, the server prompted an error.

    Correct, because it can see every event in SQL Server, only a sysadmin can use this.
