wotcha
Anyone know how to create a report with multi columns? I'm trying to create a very simple report formatted like a phone list, which "snakes" the data within the report. Reporting books on line says it's possible, but doesn't say how to populate the columns...
cheers

Geez, I hope it gets better in SQL2K5.... The way to do it is set the report properties to have the number of columns you want (e.g. 3). You can do this by selecting either the report body andusing the properties pane or going to the Report menu and selecting Report Props.
This mods the screen layout a little to display the columns. Then add a list box and a data item within it. Be careful, on my install (RS SP1) doing a "preview" still showed only 1 column ( a *LOT* of head scratching going on here), but when I went to print preview, yep, the multi columns were there.
BTW, found "how" to do it from msdn online --> http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/rscreate/htm/rcr_creating_layout_v1_4uwj.asp not as overtly helpful as I could have hoped though.
