Hi everyone
I need to grant users the necessary privileges to allow them to add linked servers to SQL 2000 themselves.
I have already added these users to the setup admin server role and granted them explicit execution rights on the sp_addlinkedserver, sp_addlinkedsrvlogin, sp_helplinkedsrvlogin, sp_linkedservers and sp_linkedservers_rowset stored procs in master.
However, the option to add a new linked server remains greyd out.
What else could I do to allow these users to add linked servers?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Embrenchia,
Did those users disconnect their Enterprise Managers and connected again after you changed their rights?
Are they able to execute sp_addlinkedserver and sp_addlinkedserverlogin from Query Analyzer?

Hi Yelena
Thanks for the reply. I have granted them execute privileges on sp_addlinkedserver and -login. They are able to execute it from QA, however it is not updated in EM.
They are using QA now.
