Hello All,
Over the weekend I installed sql server 2k w/ sp2 for use with a new medical billing program they are implementing. On the server itself during the setup I need to create a new system dsn based on named pipes. I enter all of the information that is required based on the software manufactures instructions and click Ok to save. When I check the properties of the new dsn the entries specifically for naned pipes are different that what I entered. And no matter if I re-enter them over they will not save... When I create the same system dsn entry on one of the client workstations (winxp) there is no problems... The server is win2k w/sp4 installed... Is there an issue or bug that I need to know about?
Thanks in advance.

I've noticed something similar in WinXP -- it will let you go through the steps of creating a DSN in the ODBC Administrator, but unless you have admin rights, it will not save the information to the registry.
