Greetings from me.
We are looking for implementing a Business Intelligence solution for our organization. We are curently evaluating Factbroker (www.factbroker.com). Any pointers towards this will be of great help (like)

There are so many BI packages out there at the moment that you really need to be careful when choosing. I can't say that I have used factbroker before, but I have to say it looks impressive at first glance.
In order to select the best solution I ALWAYS put together a design spec and rate each requirement by package, with a rating like None, Little, OK, Advanced etc.
The other thing you may want to consider is seeing if a package has a built in etl tool as well. For example, business objects has a complete set. Integration does speed up population of datamarts and the gui interfaces spped up production time considerably.
A good place to look for articles about factbroker and other vendors is : http://www.intelligentperformance.com
and http://www.datawarehouse.com. There are various articles written by people who have evaluated packages against each other.

Determine your requirements before you look to your solution. The best package may not do what you need.

I'll echo Matt here - rule #1 of effective/useful BI initiatives is determining what questions you want to answer before you even start collecting data... never go for the big bang when it comes to BI, you'll find yourself coded into a corner every time - start small, get some wins and go from there.
Once upon a time encountered a request for the creation of a massive data warehouse including data from dozens of systems, thousands of man hours of development, etc. at an estimated cost of nearly million dollars... turned out the answer to "the question" was already in the accounting system, updated daily, etc., all it took was someone who understood the question, the available data, a little bit of SQL and an existing report server... 3 hours @ ~$25/hour.
Probably the funniest comment I ever heard regarding a BI solution was "all the data is great but the information is crap".
