Log Shipping Secondary Server Crashed

  • Hi, I have the following setup. I have a cluster that log ships to a standalone server in another datacenter plus a monitor server. Much to my surprise my secondary standalone server crashed and burned and had to be rebuilt. I log ship from the cluster to this server every 5 minutes. All my jobs have been failing on my primary cluster cos they can't find the secondary to log ship too. I also can't remove log shipping for the same reason. I'm not real sure on how to proceed. How can I remove log shipping to reconfigure it when it won't let me? Also, just bringing up the secondary standalone won't fix anything cos it doesn't know it is a secondary log shipper anymore, it has been rebuilt. I have database backups of the secondary log shipper. I could restore them, that might allow me to cleanly remove log shipping and start over again. Any ideas or suggestions?

  • You need to clean down the appropriate tables in the msdb, check out the following links for help on it:
