If I recall correctly, SQL 2000 DTS does not provide an easy way to promote a DTS package from a Test environment to a Production environment. Does Yukon do anything to fix this problem?

Hi,
Don't know about the Yukon version but you can do this in SQL 2000. In the DTS designer on your test server select Save As and then save the package to the file system. On your production server load the packge in from the file system.

I just got through reading about the new DTS in Yukon. It sounds like it is as easy as 2000 if not easier.

Hi there,
Yukon DTS will certainly make this kind of activity alot easier through the use of Configurations (if I understand them correctly). The idea being that you can set up your (in effect) packages and point them at different configurations. A configuration will contain server names etc... which the package will extract from/export to/etc...
Thats my understanding of it anyway.
cheers, Jamie
