Backing up to a Networked Drive

    I have a SQL Server 2000 Instance where I have the need to run a set of backups to another Server on the Network.

    The SQL Server Services are being started with a Domain Account which has Local Admin Priviledges on the box as well as full permissions to a "destination" Server to which I have mapped a drive.

    When I attempt to run a test backup to this mapped drive, I get an error simply stating 'device error or device offline'

    seems that maybe i am missing something here.. can anyone help?

    Try using the UNC names. \\servername\Drive$\foldername\filename.bak
