Here is a nice little article about a potential issue with the component sublicensing in SQL Server for Olap/Analysis Serverices and DTS. This potentially could mean huge fees assesed to us the end users.

Not sure if the end users will get hit. Appears to be more for ISVs who resell code.
The articles haven't really run detsails.

Yeah, they lack a lot of detail. Just enough to make you read the patent statement but it still makes no sense as to what pieces specifically are in question. Looks to me like Oracle may have put a hand in here as this looks like it started around the time the big Antitrust case was going on (that is my conspiracy theory anyway).
