  I know SQL mail needs a MAPI client installed on the server in order to run.

  What is the minimum requirement for SQL server 7 on WinNT 4 server in order to be able to start SQL mail ? I am trying to keep the NT Server as "clean" from "client" software (such as Outlook) as possible.

  If I install just Windows messaging on the server - will I be able to connect to the Exchange 5.5 server ? Or I need an Exchange client installed in addition ?

  I don't have an NT4 server in posession to play with.

  If someone has gone this way - I would appreciate any thoughts.
