SQL 2000 uses MSXML2.0, is it possible to upgrade this, perhaps to MS XML 4?

I recently installed SQLXML 3.0 on a SQL 2000 server in order to perform XSL Transformations on the server side when I post SQL templates to a virtual directory. It seems to work great.

I believe SQL XML 3.0 uses MSXML 4.0 for the IIS side of SQLXML but OPENXML does not use MSXML4.0. This is clear when you try and use some of the new functions in MSXML4.0
