Hi gurus!
I have Sql server 2000+SP2! on W2k+sp2
I created alert based on error# 17148
"SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request from Service Control Manager"
I stopped and start Server :
In SQL Server log I can see :
"SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request from Service Control Manager."
But Alert did not fire!
Based on 010 severity it is working till I add
in 'error msg cont this text':
"SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request from Service Control Manager."
I try to specify another errors in alert
with out any success.
Do you have any solution?
Do you have any ideas how better to track who/what
shut down SQl Server with triggering SQL Server job?

Thank you Solar.

I checked EventViewer: Agent stoped before error #17148 was written in log.
Same time if I am using 010 severity in alert - it fires before Agent stopes
But problem (trac who/what shut down server) is still here -
