I have been working with Lotus Support to setup an application called iNotes for Outlook so I can use Outlook from my SQL Server to send mail. I have setup a profile in Outlook and it sends e-mail from Outlook. When I try to use the profile in SQL Server, I click the "Test" button and the system hangs. I usually end up having to re-start the server.
I know the "Test" button is supposed to start, then stop, a mail session but mine is not working. I don't know how to figure out what is causing the problem.
If anyone out there has used iNotes for Outlook, or simply has a suggestion about figuring out why my "Test" doesn't work, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance.
Jason

Have you logged in as the sql server account and successfully sent mail using iNotes? Be sure this profile is the default profile and Outlook is not set to ask when it starts.

Yes, I have logged in as the SQL Server account and sent mail from there. There is one thing you said that is making me think I may not be using the correct profile.
When I logged in as the SQL Server account, I setup a profile called "SQL Server" and set it as the default profile. Do I need to setup a profile with the name of the account I am logged in as for SQL Server?
Also, what about passwords? How does SQL Server handle needing a password when trying to start a mail session?
Thanks!

You will need to sign on as the user with the mail profile, and create the profile on the server.
