Hi I am trying to copy a user db backup file from datacenter server(Hosting Company) to my local drive.
After zip the file is only 300MB size, still it is taking 3 to 4 hours time.
Is there any possible ways to copy the file quickly? And why a 300 MB file taking so long?
Appreciate your help

Not related to db , i guess , network speed would be less..
check the network bandwidth...
or try any other large file( non db) and try to copy..
If thts 300 mb, u can also try to do on pen drive.

check with the network company and ask them. Depending on your bandwidth, you may not be getting a good connection from the hosting company.
Here, I get around 800mpbs, and I'd expect 300MB to take over an hour because I typically won't get 800mpbs for one download. I'll likely be in the 400-500kbps instead.

You can use a file splitter application to make smaller chunks - thus allowing you to even email yourself the file.
Another option would be to use a FTP application.
