Our Question of the Day quiz if fairly popular. People try to answer questions each day, checking their knowledge or perhaps trying to learn something new. We have questions on all sorts of topics, but we're always looking for more.
If you think you can write a question to challenge others in the community, please think about submitting one to us. We are looking for questions in these areas:
- BI topics
- T-SQL problems
- HA issues you might have encountered
- Security challenges in protecting data.
If you have experience in any of these areas, think about writing a question.
Good Questions
A few examples of complex questions are Drop Me? I Don't Think So or The Case Of the Downward Pointing Arrow. Both of these set up a scenario and give the users choices. We'd like to see more questions like this.
A good question needs to be clear, so make sure you write the question in a way that makes sense to the reader and includes the code or information necessary to solve the problem. Answers should be listed, and if multiple answers have to be chosen, give the number (select 2, select 3, etc). The explanation should give a reason why the particular answer is correct, not just restate the answer. A supporting URL, prefereably from Microsoft, is also needed.
