I used Windows Authetication and everything was working fine.
I change the windows domain\admin password as recommended, rebooted due to MS updates and was then locked out !
I followed the MS365941 recommendations for changing a password and each time i reboot the server i am locked out, either using sa or Windows Authentication.
Why does it keep loosing the password ?
How do i fix this headache ?
Thanks

Where are you changing the password? Try using SQL Server Configuration Manager to change the password instead of the services applet.

FYI, not everyone has Office 2007 (or Word 2007) and as I have more than enough things installed on my system at home, I shouldn't have to load special viewers just to read attachments.

I have 2000 on my system at home. I'm just suggesting that you save this in a more common format. I do have 2007 at work and i have looked at what you posted, and it doesn't help. I can't tell you what the problem is from that at all. What is the exact error(s) you are receiving and when do you get them?

Considering the wide varietyu of people on this site, I'd recommend that you save files that you intend to upload to SSC using the lowest common denominator. If what you post I can't read from where I am, oh well.
Please remember, this is only a suggestion.
I've done myself a few times and had to provide it in a different format myself a few times.

I'd suggest using the .doc/.ppt/.xls formats instead of .docx/.pptx/.xlsx that came out with Office 2003 believe. There are a lot of Office 2000 and XP installs out there, especially at home that can't open the new formats. I actually have set my Office 2007 installs to use the older formats as the default.

Office 2000-2003 formats should work, but a jpg/gif/png would be better.
However, there is nothing in that image that provides information. It's a shot of Configuration Manager that doesn't even show an error. If you get an error, it's better to just type the text in here.

I got it fixed after playing with some accounts and passwords.
Thanks

Suggestion for more universally readable screenshots:
1. -
2. Open Windows Paint
3. Paste the screenshot with -V
4. "Save As", select JPEG under file type, point to Desktop, give it a name.
5. Delete from desktop after you're done attaching it to blog post or email.
Or save for future reference if you like.
