For many months we execute a DTS package on a daily basis using a scheduled job. Yesterday it erred out. The error information was worthless, so I disabled the job with the thought that I would run it today manually, step by step to see where it erred out and hopefully gain more information for troubleshooting.
Low and behold the job automatically ran again even though it was disabled. I have checked sysjobs and the enabled status = 0 and the date_modifed contains the time when I set the job to disabled. I used the GUI to disable the job.
We are running service pack 4.
Any thoughts as to why a disabled job would still execute?
