Hi,
We are performing In-Place upgrade from sql server 2000 to 2005.We have just 2 DTS packages. I just ran the Upgrade adviser and it is giving me the following results:
SQL Server 2000 Meta Data Services packages are not supported:
Existing Meta Data Services packages should be moved to SQL Server storage (in the msdb database)
or to structured storage files before you upgrade. SQL Server 2005 does not install support for SQL Server 2000
Meta Data Services; therefore the Package Migration Wizard will be unable to access Meta Data Services packages
after upgrade in the absence of the SQL Server 2000 Client Tools
effected Objects:
Source Type: MSDB
Package Location: ABC
Instances: 1
Its telling the corrective action as below:
Move existing Meta Data Services packages to SQL Server storage (in the msdb database) or to structured storage files before you upgrade from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005
I had checked in the Enterprise Manager->Meta data Services-> Contents->there are no items presents. So ,In this case what should I do before upgrade?
Thank You
Mani

Since you're apparently not storing DTS packages in Meta Data Services, you don't have to do anything. The Upgrad Advisor gives me the same results when I run it on any instance.

Is there a way to get past this error, or should I assume everything else is OK.
