2008-12-29 09:58:43.07 spid4s Starting up database 'mssqlsystemresource'.
Check that the files for mssqlsystemresource are in the same folder as the master database and check the install logs from the SP installation.

hi Cain,
Previously, before applying SP2,I moved system databases mdf and ldf files to different drives.
All system databases mdf files are on E drive: E:\SQLData\INS1
master.mdf
model.mdf
msdbdata.mdf
mssqlsystemresource.mdf
mssqlsystemresource.ldf
distmdl.ldf
distmdl.mdf
All system databases ldf files are on F drive: F:\SQLlogs\INS1
mastlog.ldf
model.ldf
msdblog.ldf
And I always I have confusion that Can we move mssqlsystemresource.ldf to different drive where master.ldf has moved to or need to keep where master.mdf exist.
and where can I check the SP2 installation files?
Thanks for help

There should be a bootstrap log for the SP2 installation. There's no benefit in separating the master data and log files.
Why were you installing across the network? You really should be on the physical machine.

So, there is no need to separate system databases mdf and ldf files to different drives?
If we moved mdf and ldf files if system databases to different drives where do we keep the
mssqlsystemresource.mdf and mssqlsystemresource.ldf files.
and I would like to uninstal SP2 and see if the server is starting up..From where we can uninstall SP2?
Thanks

You can't.
You would have to reinstall SQL 2005 from scratch and bring it up to the previous level and restore your databases from a backup.
