SQL Server Setup has encountered the following problem: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Password validation failed. The password does not meet Windows policy requirements because it is too short.. To continue, correct the problem, and then run SQL Server Setup again.

BUTTONS:

Cancel

could you plz help out in get rid of this error?
Thanks

Please specify a windows policy compliant 'sa' password, I think its popping up this message just because of password not meeting policy requirements.

thanks Manu,
In my case the evaluation edition gets upgraded to Enterprise edition though Iam getting the Password policy error. we are using windows authentication. Do we need to change SA password eventhough we are using windows authentication?

You said that database edition has been upgraded then where and when exactly are you getting this message.
Is there any specific login for which its popping up this message?

It seems it is popping up this message due to weak 'sa' password. Please change it to a stronger one(complying with windows based policies) even though you are not gonna use it, that might help here.
