Hi all,
I have a Dimension called Location, Postal code is the PK.
In the fact table I have 2 columns Source Location and Destination Location that link to the above dimension.
In the cube design I added the Dims in the Hierarchies tab and also changed their name to "Destination Location" and "Target Location" reusing the same Dimension for both.
My question is, when Browsing the cube, I can see the 2 Dimensions show with the new names but once I add them to the browser tab, since the First level in the hierarchy was not renamed, I cannot diferentiate between the two.
Is there a way to append the Dimension name to the Dimension levels also? Or maybe change the level name also to reflect the new Dimension name?

Hi,
I think, you can change the level name only at the dimension hierarchy level and not at the cube - dimension usage level. By the way, which reporting tool you are going to use? A decent tool should be able to handle this smartly..

Bussiness Objects is the tool we use.
The BO tool will not be able to change the level names.
Any other ideas?

You are right, BO will not allow the level name changes. But, what I meant was, in the BO reports, you should be able to differentiate these 2 dimensions clearly without any confusion. Correct?
This confusion may happen only in AS cube browser but it is not meant for reporting.
