Hi All,
I have experience working as Database developer for more than 3 years on SQL Server and Oracle technologies. I'm interested to do some certification on MS SQL Server 2005 DBA. Could any one please help me in knowing the complete details (procedure, price, suggested material, and etc) of the SQL Server 2005 DBA certification.
Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
-Amith

There are three certs that you may be interested in. There's the Technical Specialist SQL 2005. It's a single exam. Then there's the IT Professional: Database administrator and IT Professional: Database developer. They both require that you have the technical specialist cert.
Details here:

There's also 2 BI certifications if you're interested.

Thanks for the reply. I have gone through the links and they are very informative. I'm also just wondering if there is any link where I can find the details about exam fee and the procedure to register for the MCTS test.
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks

Prometric handle all the MS certifications now (in the US) ... http://www.prometric.com/default.htm
The exams are $125 each. If you think you want to cover yourself in the event of a fail, MS offers a "second chance" program - it was being offered free in December and may still be.
You may want to check out the certification forum on this site if you have other questions.

Brain dumps are nothing more than cheating. Using (or passing on) brain dumps can get you your MS certifications revoked, permanently.
The MS links I gave earlier list the courses and books for the exams. You can also buy the Study guides, but I would advise you to check their reviews on Amazon before you buy.

I used the MS study guide (ISBN 0-7356-2271-X), it was easy to read and covered pretty much everything. The book includes a self-test for the exam, a 120-day trial copy of SQL, and a 15% discount for the exam itself. You really need to work / play with SQL to get an understading of the concepts, and if you're unsure of something, do some background research and do the scenarios in the book. Generally speaking, I find that Amazon offers some of the best prices for these and the other self-study books.
You could also get the whole set (70-431, 443 and 444) for your complete MCITP DBA certification (ISBN 0-7356-2377-5).
