Installing Analysis services

     We are going to install this as a proof of concept and have been doing some research on it. Dumb question:  Do I have to install SQL Server THEN install Analysis Services or does an Analysis services install all the pieces and parts during it's install ?

    SSAS is a part of the SQL Server install.  It will be an option to install during the SQL Server install process.

    Just to clarify, you don't need SQL Server installed to have AS installed, if you decide you don't need/want it.  If you're using SQL 2005, it's a single installer and as Shawn mentioned you can pick and chose which components to install.

    Absolutely.  I appologize if I wasn't too clear.  You can install SSAS without the SQL Server isntall.  They just come in the same installer package.
