Dedlock entry in Sysperfinfo table

  • Hi

I want to investigate about the deadlocks occures in my application.I have   following entry in my sysperfinfo table.

    Object NameCounter NameInstance Namecntr_valuecntr_type
    SQLServer:Locks                                                                                                                 Number of Deadlocks/sec                                                                                                         Key                                                                                                                             2272696320

I want to know the significance of the value "KEY" in column instance_name.

Or it would be good if I could get what exactly this row says.

    Regards

    Sardar

  • It means the deadlock occurred on an Index level rather than a table or a page...

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
