Here is an interesting one.
I have two SQL Server 2000 production servers, on seperate machines, configured with a LinkServer connection between them. One is PrimarySQL and the other is SecondarySQL. The PrimarySQL and SecondarySQL are pointed to the correct machine using the IP address located in the Hosts file.
Now I am in the process of doing an Upgrade to my environment using a paralell SQL Server 2005 server. On each machine, i have installed the new server, but how would I modify the hosts file to handle the now duplicate SQL servers located on each machine?
Anyone have any ideas?
