Hello,
my RS is in server A ( using RS 2005) and my database is in server B.
when I create the report in VS and preview it - it works fine
I deploy it to report manager - it is ok too
however when I try to preview it from repot manager - I can't
there is an error message say - can't create a connection to data source.
Do I need to do something in order to make this 2 server communicate each other.
btw - I have use share data source too but still the same prob
please help me .. I am really desperate on this....
Thanks,
S

There's not a lot of detail in the post bu this does sound like a permissions problem. Ask yourself how did you set up your data source to access these reports?
I've had some difficulty in getting system or NT Service and User accounts to work at this stage. I finally created a Sql Server account and password for the data connections.
Therefore NT Security handles getting to the Report Site but actually talking to the database is handled by the database security it's self. It seems to be a happy compromise for me.
Good Hunting!

Just a few things:
RS express can't connect to other servers... not that I think you are using that.
It helps to link the servers to carry sql permissions across
I always use a sql account with low permissions for RS never NT accounts
You need to ensure the SQL setup allows both NT and SQl accounts to be used
hope any of that helps
