greetings all,
New on this board. i am trying to move all DTS packages from one server to another. once i changed the server name and saved the package, the SA password got erased. the package is therefore fail to run. Any suggestions? thanks very much.

Are you asking how to get the passwords back? If moving to another server, it is probably different anyway.
My rule #2 is don't use sa. I usually use Windows authentication in DTS packages. Also, don't right click on the package to schedule. I always use the dtsrun command with the /E switch to avoid having the sa password as part of the command. When I took this job, I inherited a server with a blank sa password and about 20 jobs running DTS packages, what a headache to clean up!!!
