I have just come back from holiday and the following error opccured and made the database fail when a normal transaction Log backup was performed
sqlmaint.exe failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029). The step failed.
Anyone put some light on this why it has happened.
Thanks in advance
Scott

Check out these items on the MS KB Site http://search.support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?Catalog=LCID%3D1033%26CDID%3DEN-US-KB%26PRODLISTSRC%3DON&Product=sql&Query=22029&Queryc=22029&withinResults=false&srchstep=0&KeywordType=ALL&Titles=false&numDays=&maxResults=25 and see if any of those apply. Usually is related if you are trying to do a transaction log backup of master or have an expiration set.

Sorry I find no details on this error in particular nor have I come across it. What service pack is on your server and did you check both the SQL logs and EventViewer logs to see if anymore details?

This corresponds to a message back from the OS...

What, if anything was going on with the server at the time? As Antares has asked, what do the Event Logs say, especially the one for System?

At the time of the failure there was a transaction log back up occuring. This failed.
On the Application error log there were plenty of errors showing. Interestingly there are couple showing Network errors. May well be the solution to this.
Thanks for your help again
