Hi there,
I am using Windows 7 64 bit operating system. Please advice as to which version of SQL Server is available for me to install and also if possible let me know the link to download the software.
Thanks

SQL Server 2014 Developer Edition is free - but you'll need to register. https://my.visualstudio.com/Downloads?q=SQL%20Server%202014%20Developer
See announcement for more details and links: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/dataplatforminsider/2016/03/31/microsoft-sql-server-developer-edition-is-now-free/

Also depends what you're trying to do. Developer edition is for, as the name suggests, development. The licence agreement means you can't use it for any production/live work. If you want a free version for production, you'll need to use the Express Licence, or otherwise buy licences for Standard or Enterprise.

Windows 7 will be running out of support in a year or two's time. I will have the dilemma of what I shall replace my home internet machine with: some flavour of Linux or instead buy a new Mac. For as God is my witness, I shall not infect it with the update-madness that is Windows 10. I do want Windows-as-a-Service.
I do have Windows 10 at home for SQL Server dev. work but it is strictly off the Internet.
Of course, if your machine won't be on the Internet, then it doesn't really make a difference.
Do bear in this mind if you are starting medium-term development work now.

You say it's not connected to the internet, but then, where are those installation files coming from? Physical media is very rare these days.

I bought a Windows 10 installer DVD for that very purpose and I do go online very occasionally, whenever I need to activate software, for example, but I have been online maybe 5 times in the last year.
The machine is used for specific applications that don't require the Internet.
