How about a quick round of revision?
Rate your self in DW concepts and OLAP on a scale of 10?:-)

Hi Raunak ...
I have just started learning SSAS as I am working in SSIS, SSRS and SQL Server.
However I don't consider myself worthy enough to give any kind of rating as I have finished my first round of learning where I went through the concepts, terms and steps superficially ...
Since I am going to start the indepth study round and thus this search for practise exercises ...

You know that was a joke...
Anyway, nice to see that you are engrossed in self pace study...
I would highly recommend that you gain a strong hold on DW principles first, before you further embark the journey of OLAP and data mining.
Feel free to pitch in!!

Hi Raunak ...
Thanks for the valuable guidance and pointers.
Surely I need to work more on the DW concepts and also on th OLAP.
Since the OLAP and DW concepts are implemented in SSAS 2008 heavily, I am looking for the practise exercises so that I can practise the steps as along I go through the SSAS, Analysis Services.
Believe this is going to be beneficial because practising along side the learning will give a better understanding to the topic / subject learned.
Whats you say ?

I find the best way to learn is to get hands-on experience.
MS have provided an AdventureWorks Datawarehouse and OLAP cube these are avaiable at CodePlex, I would recommend downloading and installing them and having a look to see how things are done.
Then you can follow the walk-throughs on Books-online as these refer to adventureWorks.
Another great site, though may be a little advanced for a beginner is
http://www.ssas-info.com/"> http://www.ssas-info.com/
since you know SQL server, SSIS and SSRS already you should be able to pick up SSAS farily easily.

Hey Raunak,
Thanks a lot for the valuable pointers ...
I had already installed the DW databases provided by MS as the same had been referred by the exercises in the book that I am following.
However I was not aware that BOL had walk through exercises as well. I will check them out at the earliest.
Also the site suggested by you... I will visit it in the next available free time...
In case you come across more of such practise resources from the WEB please feel free to share with me because it takes a lot to come up to the mark in SSAS though I am working in the rest of the modules of MSBI, because once I am comfortable in SSAS then only I can be called a MSBI'ian ... Howzzzaaaat !!!

Amartha
