Guys,
I believe I am putting this up on the correct section, if not, please let me know.
My Question:
What is required in order to take the DBA out of needing to be a part of DR Testing? ( Obvious answers like: dont have any SQL Servers or databases dont count. 🙂 )

Having documentation or other people who know how to do it?

Good documentation and a set of tested scripts.... emphasis on the word "tested".

Depends on the type of disaster you are testing for, and what the DBA role means to your organization.

Maybe that's the disaster, the dba is hit by a bus.

You would at least need someone who knows what scripts to run in which order.
A junior DBA in other words 🙂

Someone else tasked with performing the DR database work. That means they may not necessarily have written the procedures and\or scripts, but knows where to get hold of them and have performed them under test conditions, with and without a DBA present.
