Is it possible to run an SSIS package which has been placed in linux server?

  • I had a discussion with my colleague regarding running an ssis package which has been placed in Linux Operating system, from SQL Server (agent job) installed in Windows system.

My colleague is saying it is possible. But I am not confident on it.

Please let me know whether it Possible or not?

  • I sincerely doubt it.

SSIS packages are executed with dtexec.exe and as far as I know (unless I'm missing something) .exe files cannot run on Linux.

Need an answer? No, you need a question
