Hi,
I was able to install SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on XP Professional SP2 OS. Later, I tried installing SSIS a few times. Below is the same failure message (copied from the Bootstrap log files) each time i install :

IS the user account being used to install this an admin type account in XP?
You might look at this:

Installer user is a Admin User. Same user account was used to Installed SQL Server 2005.
