Number of MCSE Data Platform certified people in the world ?

  • I am curious to know the number of MCSE Data Platform certified people in the world as of today. There used to be a page on the Microsoft learning website that gave numbers of certified people worldwide back in 2009 and I am sure if this is still around somewhere, I can't find it.

Does anybody know of a location where to check the counts.

  • You are correct, the web page was discontinued. It used to be located here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/certified.mspx

Here is the official answer from Microsoft:

Microsoft Learning decided that presenting the number of people for each certification was of diminishing value given the sheer size of the numbers for each certification. In some cases it was at risk undermining the value of the certification as people felt like too many people had it

Now, you could use the Internet Archive WayBack Machine to look at a historical version of the web page:

    Ahh, the memories...

  • Does Microsoft have a page where you could look up a name and confirm their certifications? Last time I was job hunting, I listed an old certification in my resume but since I no longer have the paperwork I realized I couldn't prove it. I would think that having a name lookup page would increase the value of certifications by discouraging people from claiming certifications they did not earn.

You can log onto the MCP Member site and select the option to share your Transcript. You will be supplied with a TranscriptID and AccessCode that you can share to allow others to view your transcript.

  • I don't remember my logon from then, and I know I no longer use the email address I used at that time (Compuserve). I'll sign on with my new information and see if there's a way to match me with my old account.
