Performance during job execution

  • Hi, I need to check the performance while Jobs are running on SQL 2000. can i use the Perfmon and collect the data or do i need to use SQL profiler. Can anyone please suggest what are counters and the values to be taken in to consideration. What if i use profiler? please give your suggestions....

  • To know what you want to look for, you need to know what you're trying to find. What details can you provide about your current issue that you're trying to track down? Do you have existing baselines on the perfomance counters?

For a generic overview, check out this article:

You can build out from there.

  • I'm not an expert but would probably start with Performance Monitor first and once you figured which counter is causing issues then focus on that and start profiler.

Also download and make yourself familiar with this.

    🙂
