These two have nothing in common.
Writeback is a OLAP technique that allows exchange of data between Analysis Server and a pivot table in an Excel book. You can find more here:
Proactive caching (also called "preheating") is a method of improving response of the reporting server. You assign caching attributes to your reports, and you execute them yourself, usually via Report Execution Service. That loads them into the cache before any user hits them. This way, even the first user hitting the report gets a cached copy, which is usually much faster than rendering.

Srihari, generally, you don't want to post your email address out in the forums, great way to be found by a spambot 🙂 use the 'Send Private Message' option found by left clicking on the members name at the top of their post/s.
Also, you may want to read up on the Msft documenation, it's not clear where you found out about proactive caching, so it may be that you're actually looking for a storage mode of SSAS, called, proactive caching (versus 'warming' of the cache 🙂 ). You can find some details here.
