i currently have SS2005 installed on my local windows 7 machine. since installing sql server, i have had problems connecting to the report manager. i tried changing the account under which the service runs but am having trouble finding a configuration that will let me connect to report manager in my browser. i have tried IE, Firefox, Chrome to no avail. i am using a work computer that is on our company network so i have to log into the machine under the company domain. the problem seems to be something with IIS, although i am not certain.
it appears that i have IIS 7.5
the latest error is:
HTTP Error 500.23 - Internal Server Error
An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
any ideas

What account do the reporting services and database engine run under?
Is your login account a member of the local admin group?
Can you supply more detail on the configuration used when you rzn reporting services configuration manger (are you using ssl, host headers, etc)?

Have you enabled the IIS6 compatibility options in IIS7? You need these if you are going to get SSRS 2005 working on IIS7.

Ok, so after uninstalling anything that resembles SQL Server, I reinstalled SQL Server 2005 again. I ran all the service packs and updates and was able to get the SSRS service to run, as well as got the Windows Service and Web Service to run in SSRS config manager. I am also able to access the Report Manager in IE.
My problem now is that when i try to deploy my SSRS project or even a single report or data source, I am prompted with a login box. My current company domain password does not work. The password that i set up for user sa is not working either. I do not understand which password it is looking for.
To answer some of your questions though:
- What account do the reporting services and database engine run under? All services are running under the LocalSystem account
- Is your login account a member of the local admin group? I am not sure. How do i check this? I should be able to get it if i need to get company IT involved.
- Can you supply more detail on the configuration used when you rzn reporting services configuration manger (are you using ssl, host headers, etc)? Nothing fancy here. i just took the defaults in the installation. no SSL, no host headers that i know of.
- Have you enabled the IIS6 compatibility options in IIS7? You need these if you are going to get SSRS 2005 working on IIS7. i believe i have that installed. see screen shot attached.

Thank you for the links. I am already familiar with the RS Config Manager.
