If I have my MCITP: DBA SQL Server 2005 Certification I know that I can upgrade to 2008 by taking 70-453. What if I want to then pursue an additional SQL Server 2008 certification?
For example, I upgrade my current MCITP: DBA to SQL Server 2008 and now I want to pursue the MCITP: Database Developer on SQL Server 2008. What exams do I need to take? Is there an upgrade path even though I never took the MCITP 2005 exams or do I have to take the MCTS:SQL Server 2008 70-433 and the MCITP: SQL Server 2008 70-451? I am asking this because with the 2005 exams the same MCTS exam was the base exam and that no longer appears to be the case with 2008.

You have MCITP DBA 2005 you upgrade that with exam 70-453 and since you don't have MCITP Database Developer 2005 you have to take the two exams needed to get MCITP Database Developer 2008 because all three SQL Server certification are not related in scope or tasks so there is no credit for the other.
