can we do mirroring in sql server 2005 SP4(STANDARD EDITION) i

  • Hi every body,

    currently i am working on sql server 2005 SP4(STANDARD EDITION).

    in this version DATABASE MIRRORING supporting or not.

    In this server total 10 user databases is there.i want do all,is it possible?

  • Yes, you can use mirroring on your platform. You are however, limited to synchronous mirroring AKA High Safety mirroring.

    Yes, DB Mirroring can be implemented on above mentioned edition.

    FYI..

    Also, on a 32-bit system, database mirroring can support a maximum of about 10 databases per server instance because of the numbers of worker threads that are consumed by each database mirroring session.

  • You only create 1 endpoint per SQL Server instance. Don't forget to configure the windows firewall also.
