SQL 2005 (9.0.4035)
I have been trying several methods to attempt to delete the BAK files via the Maintenance Cleanup Task Wizard and still can't seem to get it to work.
At first, I merely had it as the first step in a backup maintenance plan. It was set to delete BAK (without the ".") files in their own subfolders of the E:\ drive. I had the "include fist-level subfolders" checked and the files to delete were set to older than 2 Days. I used the "local server connection" from the drop down box and the "Search folder and delete files based on an extension" radio button selected.
When that process failed, I isolated the Maintenance Cleanup Task in it's own Maintenance Plan as well as trying to manually running the T-SQL statement and it still will not work.
The path is obviously valid as I used the wizard to define the parameters.
I am not receiving any error message and it states it is completing successfully.
I have tried to search this issue in the forums and have not found a solution yet.
Please let me know if any further detail or clarification is required.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Nothing jumps out. It's not something silly like you're path is to the TRN files but you're specifying BAK files ?
I have not used "include fist-level subfolders". Is it possible that's forcing it to look a level lower than where the files are ?

I think the installation of SQL 2005 on that server may be corrupt.
I just ran the same Maintenance Plan setup on another server and it worked perfectly.
Oh well. Thanks for the response though.
