Gotta agree. I think there's some maturing going on in the SQL Server DBA community that's making it tighter-knit and more effective. (By "maturing", I don't mean a move from sophomoric imbecility to something else, I mean growth into an essentially new organism.)

I think the community has gotten stronger. That could be simply because I became aware of the community. Great job to the community.
