In in BIDS and have 2 connections in the Connection Manager tab. All I want to do is point the connections to a different server by changing the servername property. One the first connection, I simply type in the new server name. On the second connection, I type in the servername, but when I click my mouse off the property, it goes back to the old value. This same behavior occurs whether I try to edit the servername or initialcatalog setting. It occurs when I type it in, or when I try to edit the connection string, or when I try to select a different server in the connection window. I see absolutely no reason why it changes in one connection but not that other.
Is something bound that will not allow me to edit these editable settings?
Thanks

There is no config file yet---I haven't gotten that far. I just want to change the server name so that I can test this in BIDS. I do have a Data Flow task, and when I removed the data flow task, I was then able to edit the servername property. Of course the drawback is all my work is gone, so its not an option. There's nothing in the Expressions property for the data flow task.

After further review, I'm able to edit the servername property after I delete the OLE DB Source objoect from my package. That seems to be the trigger. That object has nothing special....I just have the connection manager selected, have SQL Command selected as Data access mode, and have a simple SQL cmmon text. I can't imagine this is working as designed.
