Hello.
Hopefully someone might be able to quickly clarify.
We have the 'Per processer licence' model on our production server. To confirm can I legally connect to the production database with a Developer Edition of SQL Server.
I will be the only one using my machine to connect.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards
Chris

I don't work for Microsoft but: your Developer Edition requires a licence for you to use it on your machine. However, client connections to a licenced prod server don't need a licence. So if you only had SSMS on your machine and were connecting to the licenced server then you wouldn't need any additional licences.

I thought it was something along those lines but thought I should clarify before going ahead, wouldn't want the might of Microsoft coming down on me.
Cheers for the reply.
