I was real sad to see Donald Farmer leave MS BI.
I just saw him speak at an event at early december 2010, which isn't really a long time ago.
He had a really inspiring presentation, with lots of enthousiasm and humour.

Sometimes it is surprising to see somebody leave a position such as that. On the flipside, change is good. Change is good for both the person leaving and the company being left. It gives an opportunity to ingest some new blood and maybe some new ideas. On top of that, the person leaving will be exposed to new and different things - which will help him/her learn more.
